2007 RESNET Building Performance Conference
Conference Theme
"Taking It To The Next Level"
February 17 - 21, 2007
Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina
San Diego, CA
The
building performance industry, as well as the nation as a whole, is
confronted with an incredible sea of change. Energy is back in the news.
2006 has witnessed such dramatic events as spiking energy prices, the
new federal tax credit for energy efficient homes, growing public
awareness of global climate change and changes to ENERGY STAR and the
energy rating standards.
California is a great reflection of this movement. The state energy
code requires performance testing by certified raters on all new homes.
State law requires performance testing by an energy rating at the change
out of an air conditioning system. In addition the state is developing
an ambitious climate change action plan that will include the capping
and trading of harmful carbon emissions. It is indeed appropriate that
this year=s conference is being held in the Golden State.
2007 offers building energy performance a number of new opportunities
such as:
- Effective tapping into the existing homes market
- New innovative non-mortgage financing of energy improvements
- Pollution savings verification
- The development of a market for White Tags
- International cooperation
The theme of the 2007 RESNET Conference is "Taking It To The
Next Level". The 2007 RESNET Conference will review the changes
in the rating industry, discuss their implications, and explore how to
position a rating business to profit from the new opportunities.
The RESNET Conference is the premier national forum on home energy
ratings, residential energy efficiency financing, and building
performance business development. Make plans now for three days of
networking, learning, sharing and enjoying beautiful San Diego.
RESNET is seeking suggestions for sessions and presenters that should
