The energy rating and building performanc industries are at a critical cross roads. There are a number of changes that will take place over the next year that will impact the rating industry including:

  • Proposed changes to ENERGY STAR Homes guidelines
  • The changes to the national home energy rating standards
  • Potential for residential energy efficiency tax credits
  • Volatile gas prices

While these events will change the way the ENERGY STAR Homes are labeled and how ratings are conducted, they also present new opportunities. Those firms that understand these changes and position their business to take advantage of the opportunities they present will be position to gain the greatest profit in the future.

The 2006 RESNET Building Performance Conference will review the changes in the rating industry, discuss their implications, and explore how to position a rating business to profit from the new opportunities.
