RESNET Qualified Contactor and Builder Guidelines

With the emerging interest in the retrofit of existing homes there is a need for energy raters, auditors and homeowners to identify contractors and builders that abide by a code of ethics, consumer complaint resolution process and training on the basics of building science.

RESNET has adopted guidelines for the emerging market of contractors that are not yet ready to become comprehensive building performance contractors. These contractors must pass a RESNET test, agree to the RESNET Code of Ethics, have an approved consumer complaint resolution process, and be certified by a RESNET accredited Contractor and Builder Education and Qualification Provider
